Take It Like A Man

My title comes from the song I’m listening to. It’s ‘Take It Like A Man’ from Legally Blonde on Broadway. Way cute song. If you haven’t seen the play, you so should. It’s way good.

Today was an interesting day. I had to go out and buy some more plastic organizing stuff. So, another trip to Wal-Mart. And I almost died. lol. I was walking behind a car and it started backing up! So, I jumped back and just kinda stood there. The lady slammed on her breaks and just looked at me for a second. Then she got this shocked look on her face, waved and said she was sorry. Looking back, it’s kinda funny.

So, I called my grandma today. I called her a few days ago and left a message telling her that Caleb and I were going to driving around the country in September and that we wanted to stop by and say hi. I’ve only seen my relatives on Larry’s side of the family a handful of times since I turned 14.

Anyways, I don’t want to get into that. Suffice it to say that we (Chris and I) don’t make a big habit of keeping in contact with these people. They aren’t very nice to us most of the time.

But, yeah, I called Grandma and Aunt DeLyne a few days ago to let them know Caleb and I would be driving around the country in September and wanted to know if they wanted us to stop by. Grandma said she’d love it, so when Caleb gets home, we’ll figure out a time that will be best for our trip. Aunt DeLyne hasn’t called back. I’m hoping she’s just on vacation and not ignoring me.

Not much else is going on. Caleb called this morning at 11:01. It was nice to talk to him for a second. He was waiting for Derek to come back so they could go to lunch. Too bad Derek came back so fast. He’s only allowed a certain amount of time for lunch, so Caleb had to get right off the phone when Derek came so Derek would have time to eat. Oh well. It was still nice to get a call from Caleb. It was really sweet of him to call. I love all the phone calls I get from him. We got to talk for about an hour yesterday, so that was really nice.

Other than that, I’ve still been working on getting this place cleaned up. I’m pretty much done. The back room still looks like a disaster, but that’s just because there are boxes all over. I’ve got everything unpacked that I can except for the books. Caleb suggested leaving all the books in the boxes so that’s what I’m doing. I’m debating taking the books that are in cardboard boxes out and puting them in the now-empty plastic tubs. I’ll see what Caleb thinks when he gets home. He’s the one that will have to move the boxes around so that I can empty them. With my car accident, I’m still having problems moving and lifting things. I was bawling last Sunday because my neck and shoulders hurt so bad. So, yeah, Caleb gets to move all the boxes around and I’m not sure he’s going to want to move all the book boxes around. We’ll see, though.

Well, that’s about it for today. The only other thing I did was call my 401K company and ask some questions about it. Since I’m not working for Utah State anymore, I have to pay a yearly fee to maintain my 401K. $15 a year isn’t too bad. I’m thinking about doing a rollover to an IRA, but I don’t know which one would be best and which company would be best to go with. So, I think I’ll leave it where it is for now.

So, yeah, that was my fun day. Hope everyone is doing well and everyone is happy. 🙂
