House Hunting

As most of you know, Caleb and I have been househunting the past few weeks. We’ve seen some cute-ish houses and some total wrecks. I’m not kidding. There was one house with holes in the ceiling, several holes in the wall, giant oil spots on the carpets (it looked like the owners had taken bottles of motor oil and dumped them around the house), yellow stains on the carpet in rooms that reeked like a litter box and there was even a mouse! And they wanted almost $100,000 for that house. Good luck.

Anyways, we found two that we really liked. On Saturday, we went and looked at our top six houses again and narrowed it down to two. Then we discussed the floorplans and resale potential and settled on one. It has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms at 1728 ft2. The colors are horrendous, but it’s not too hard to repaint the walls. Most of the floors are fake hardwood, so there’s not too much carpet. Only two bedrooms have carpet. We’re using one bedroom as a computer room, so it is the ‘study.’ The backyard needs some work and there are minor aesthetic things we’d like to fix. Here is the house we like:

I love how the ivy looks, but everyone has been telling us that it ruins the walls, so we’re going to tear it down if we get this house:
