Waking Up

I just woke up (hence the title, lol) at my mom’s house. Kinda crazy. Part of that is because normally when I sleep until I wake, I wake up around noon. It was 7:40 when I woke up, which would be 8:40 Oklahoma time. I gues that’s a good thing. The other part is because I woke up and I feel like I never left. lol. So wierd! I told my mom and sister that last night. Now that I’m back home with my family, it’s like Virginia and Oklahoma never happened. Sometimes I wish certain things in Virginia and Oklahoma had never happened, but that’s a wish that will never be granted. We just have to learn from the mistakes and the bad things and move on. Easier said than done. lol.

It’s so strange to wake up and not have anything to do. I mean, of course I am going to shower and all that fun stuff. But other than that, I don’t have to do to work, I don’t have to check the dog and bird’s food, I don’t have to feed my cat (I miss Sadie!!!), I don’t have to pay bills or do laundry. It’s really nice to just be able to sit here and relax without having to think about all the things that I should be doing instead of relaxing.

I just sent a birthday card to Lyndsay and a missing you card to Lyndsay and Chelsea. Those two are coworkers that have become really good friends. They’re really awesome people and I’m so glad I work with them. Usually I have a hard time getting to be really good friends with coworkers, but there’s a whole little group at work that we’ve all become pretty good friends. We go to lunch together almost every day, we know what’s going on in each other’s lives and we hang out and text a lot. Well, Lyndsay and I hang out the most. We go to the gym several times a week and hang out pretty much every weekend. Chelsea hangs out with us a lot and does lunch with us almost every day. We three are the closest. Well, I guess Jason is in there with that. He’s like the office big brother. He knows everyone’s business and is just a really great person to talk to. He offers advice and gives hugs all the time. Justin is Jason’s brother and he’s pretty cool, too. He and Jason are very unique individuals. I love that they are so kind and gentlemanly. They’re just really decent guys and it’s nice to see that some guys are still like that. The other person we hang out with is Ryan. He’s still on the fringes of our little group, but he’s part of it. Chelsea, Lyndsay and I kinda gang up on him and tease him a lot. He gets his own back, though, so it’s all good. He likes to shoot everyone in the office with rubber bands. I used to shoot people with rubber bands, but once I shot myelf in the face (three times), Justin in the neck and Lyndsay in the eye, they all banned me from touching rubber bands. So, I just stick with hiding stuff. We all hide stuff from each other and make messes on each other’s desks. It’s fun. It’s so nice to finally have people at work that I can be good friends with and have fun with. Makes the work day a lot better. Whenever any of us is having a bad day, the rest of us all rally around and try to make the person feel better. If it doesn’t work, lots of hugs are exchanged. It’s really nice.

So, yeah, I like my job. lol. I may get really bored with it at times, but I love the people I work with. Even the people outside the group are fun. There’s just a lot of fun people at the office. They attorneys are fun and management is fun. It’s so wierd. Usually the ‘higher ups’ tend to keep a distance and maintain a distinction, but the people I work for manage to do that and be fun at the same time. Yeah, they still do the ‘boss’ thing, but they also manage to be good people at the same time. I’m not sure if that makes sense, but I just want to convey that I like my job and the people I work for and with.
