First Day of Class

Well, today was the start of the semester. Still no word on my student loan. Well, I got some emails from the student loan people saying I hadn’t done stuff, but I had. I emailed them back and they told me the letter had been written before I’d completed all the documents. Plus, the guy didn’t see my email from two weeks prior, sending in a document he’d asked for. *sigh* So, I’ve been approved for a student loan and I’ve completed everything they’ve asked of me. I just haven’t seen the loan yet. I received a bill for my classes and emailed them to tell them I’m waiting on disbursement of my loan. Hopefully, I receive it soon.

But, even so, I have been registered for school and started class today. I turned in two assignments and did some of the prep work for another one that is due Thursday. One, I had to write an essay about myself and my feelings/thoughts about the class, college and writing. The other assignment was to write responses to two other essays in the discussion. Since only one other person (aside from the instructor) had written an essay, I just wrote a response to that one essay. I’ll have to go do the other one once someone else writes something.

The other assignments I have are to write an essay on whether or not I’m in favor of or against online dating (haha), write a short response to a quote and do several quizzes. I watched an orientation video for one of my classes and thought it was ironic that the video shows how to get into the Canvas program where all the classes are. You can’t view the video unless you are already in there. lol.

Anyways, there will be repair people coming tomorrow to fix our air conditioner (it decided to have an accident on the entryway floor and both Troy and I slipped in it. Neither of us fell, thank goodness, but it has filled a bucked a quarter of the way with water almost since Sunday afternoon. So, while the repair guys are fixing that for a second time, I will work on more of my assignments. Yay. lol.

I’m a little nervous to be a student again. I haven’t been a student since 2005, but as long as I stick with doing my school work I think this will be a great experience. I’m excited about working towards by degree again. It’s kinda funny how I did the best of my siblings in high school and now I’m the only one without a degree. My sister got an Associates from Dixie and took a few more semesters at SUU. My brother got an Associates from Dixie, his Bachelors from somewhere (either Florida International University or whatever school it was he went to in England) and is now working on getting into a Master’s program in England. I need to get my buns in gear so I can catch up with them. Today, though, I completed my first day of school and am firmly back on the path of success. Soon I will be just as edjumacated as the rest of my family. Go me!
