Over the past several weeks, I’ve been trying to come up with something positive about everything that happens. I didn’t do so well at that this morning. But now that it’s a few hours later, I feel better. I’ve been sitting outside since I got home and playing on my computer. I keep going back and forth between an essay for my English class and random news articles.
While I’ve been out here, I got to thinking about how nice it is today and that I’m glad I’ve gotten to spend pretty much the entire day so far outside. Normally, I do my workout, homework, some cleaning, go hang out by the pool for an hour (if the sun is out) and then alternate between grocery shopping, running errands or whatever in the afternoon. So, for the most part, most of my day is spent inside. Part of that is because it gets pretty warm here and the humidity makes it a little uncomfortable to be out for too long. I’m not so much a fan of humidity.
Today, though, I’ve hardly even noticed it. I’ve been sitting here on the 7th floor just lounging on one of the padded chairs and enjoying how cool it feels this morning. It’s just after 11am right now and it still feels really nice. There is a slight breeze and the sun is covered by clouds, making it so it’s warm, but not too warm. It’s comfortable.
One of the nice things, along with the lovely weather, is that there are power plugs here. I’ve been able to charge my laptop and keep it alive these past few hours. My laptop was almost dead when I packed it up to take it with me this morning. We’d originally been told that I would be helping film at the office and I have a homework assignment I need to do today (I was going to do it yesterday, but I fell asleep when I started reading the assignment and ended up sleeping for 4 hours………..), so I wanted to take my laptop to do my assignment at Troy’s office in case I wasn’t going to be home before noon. Because there are power plugs down here, I have been able to just sit here and work on stuff while being outside and enjoying the fresh air and cool breeze instead of having to be inside while my laptop charges.
I guess that brings out another ‘bright side’ item. Because I didn’t have to go to Troy’s work to help film, I have been able to take time doing my assignment instead of feeling all rushed about it. And that gives me time to do other things I need to do today. Most likely, I will probably take a nap later. lol. I’m still super tired even thought I didn’t work out this morning. I did get up earlier than usual so I could iron Troy’s pants before getting ready to go to work with him. Well, sort of. I had intended on getting up at 5:30, but I turned on my shower to get it warmed up (takes about 25 minutes) and was only going to lay down for 5 more minutes, but I forgot to turn my alarm on after setting it for 5 minutes, so I slept for 20 more minutes. Not too bad. lol. Sleeping for that extra time made it so I couldn’t get everything done this morning, but Troy made breakfast while I took a shower and did part of my assignment (i was trying to do all of it), so that helped out a lot. We were able to get ready and out the door on time. Yay for helpful boyfriends!
In all, I feel better than I did this morning. A little tired and a little hungry, so I’m going to order some food, finish typing my homework assignment and then go upstairs to eat before throwing some laundry in and taking a nap. When I wake up, I’ll get my last bit of homework for this week done. It’s not due until Saturday, but I also want to get the homework that is due next week done so that I don’t have to worry about it while Troy’s parents are here. They arrive Tuesday afternoon! Yay for being able to work ahead on schoolwork and yay for visitors!
