Man or Machine?

My sweet, darling, wonderful cat was in a mood this morning and meowed and meowed and meowed non-stop for about 45 minutes…………………………….starting at 4:30 this morning. I kept hoping she’d stop and go back to sleep, but she didn’t. She stopped for a few minutes when Troy got up at 5 and gave her some food, but then started right back up again. So, I got out of bed shortly after 5 and joined Troy in the computer room where he was working. He’s been getting up at 5am the past few days to get in an extra hour or so of work before getting ready and then going into work. That’s on top of going straight back to work as soon as he walks in the door in the evening and working until 9 or later. AND, the past few days he’s been eating dinner while he works, so he hasn’t even been taking a break to eat at the table. I’ve been eating on the couch in the computer room next to him so it can kinda feel like we’re having dinner together and then getting my computer and doing stuff on it while he works.

This post wasn’t going to be about how much Troy works, but I guess that’s what is on my mind right now. He works so freakin much. Ever since just before he ended up in the hospital he’s been working late into the evening and on weekends.. Well, except for the one weekend we went to Vietnam and then this past weekend. Poor guy is stressed and really needed a break from work. I just wish some people would remember that he’s a human being and not a machine and that sometimes people need to take a break so they don’t burn out.

Blah. There’s so much I want to write, but I can’t. I guess I’ll just leave it at that I can’t wait for roll out so that Troy can take a break in peace. He’s such a hard worker and so dedicated to making sure things are done well and done right. I’m really impressed with his work ethic and his skill. I watched him work last night and it was really interesting seeing what it is he does. For the most part, Troy enjoys his job and he is good at it. When we were in Phoenix for AGM, one of the partners was talking to me and told me that he was really impressed with how well Troy does his job and how he handles things with the developers. Dave said that he watched Troy give a presentation and was very pleased with how Troy presented the information and how he made it all easy for the Malays to understand. Dave had a lot of nice things to say about Troy and it was really nice seeing Troy recognized for his hard work. It made me very proud of him. And it made me very happy to know that the higher-ups are aware of how much talent and effort Troy puts into his job. 🙂
