Sari Shop

One of the joys of living in Little India is that there are TONS of these fun little shops that hang their bright and beautiful fabric up every morning. Every shop has different fabric displayed and every day it’s a new group at each shop. It’s so fun to walk down the streets and see all the different fabrics.

When you actually want to buy a sari, you get to go in the back and see the thousands of different patterns and fabrics they really have. One of the things I love about the Hindu culture is their obsession with bright and colorful fabric patterns. Very rarely will you find dull and boring sari cloth. Even the weird puke green colors and the dark browns are livened up with sprays of colored stitching and sewn on plastic jewels. It’s so fun to just window shop for an hour or so to see all the pretty colors they have out every day.
