Fun Facts Friday 9/26 – About Me

Last night I went to a church activity that was school themed and included a show and tell. Since most people in my church don’t know me very well (i’m still relatively new and I don’t talk a lot) I decided to do a “This is Me” show and tell. It was fun. I was able to tell them a little bit of my background and some of the things I like to do.

I was thinking about the activity this morning and decided that I would like to start doing a Fun Facts Friday and start it out with 10 random facts about me………………..using the ones I shared last night. Part of that is because I held up pictures to show people, but because of my social anxiety and the nerves I was having, I forgot to pass them around. So, I decided to share those pictures here. Silly? Maybe a little, but I like the idea of doing fun facts.

So, here we go.

10 Fun Facts About Erin

  1. To start with, I’m an introvert with social anxiety. I don’t talk a lot and it’s really hard for me to get up in front of people. When I do have to get up in front of people I have to write down EXACTLY what I’m going to say and do or else it won’t happen. My brain goes completely blank when I start to stress when I’m in front of people and the only way for me to not going into a full-blown panic attack is to have everything written down so I can just read it out. I still cry sometimes, from the stress, but sometimes I can power through it. Other times, well, I end up running out of the room. lol.My Social Anxiety

  3. I love to read and my favorite book is the unabridged version of The Count of Monte Cristo.
  4. I collect wooden boxes.My Box Collection

  6. My favorite animal is a polar bear. Every time I see a picture of a baby polar bear I ask Troy if I can have one and he says no. 🙁Polar Bear
  7. I am an online student studying computer science, but I’d much rather be studying history.
  8. I had the opportunity to live in Malaysia for a year. I taught biology to refugees from Myanmar. My goofy girls. These kids are so much fun and make me laugh all the time.
  9. I also got to travel to a whole bunch of other countries that were nearby and took over 30,000 photos while we were living in Malaysia. Here are a few.

Polar bears are adorable! They’re loving, fun, cute and playful, yet can bust out the fierce when they have to. And I’m not majoring in history because I want to get a degree in something I can easily get a job with. I’m minoring in history so that I can get a master’s in that one day.

Thank you for your comment! I’m glad you stopped by. 🙂

I really liked Malaysia. It took some time to get used to, but once I figured out the way they do things there, it was great. Traffic is crazy, customer service is not very good and pickpocket/purse snatchers are pretty common, but other than that it was great. I wandered around KL alone a lot didn’t have any issues. People were generally really nice and helpful.

We went to Penang for a few days last year and the people we talked to there were super nice and had great suggestions of places we should see while we were there. It is really beautiful and the traffic is a little less chaotic than KL, so I think you’d really enjoy it there.
